We are pleased to congratulate our Centre Director, Professor Jean Yang, on securing National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funding for the new Centre for Research Excellence: Transplantation of Organs for Life (CRE-TOL). Jean will co-lead the CRE with Professor Stephen Alexander. The Centre aims to improve the long-term success of organ transplantation, helping transplanted organs last longer and improving outcomes for recipients.
Several SPDS research leaders are investigators in the CRE, including A/Professor Ellis Patrick, Dr Yue Cao, Dr Jie Kang and Harry Robertson.
The establishment of CRE-TOL highlights the growing importance of data science and interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing complex healthcare challenges. Through advanced analytics and close partnerships between clinicians, researchers and patients, the centre will work to generate new knowledge that can improve transplant care and patient outcomes.
